FIRST EDITION in rare first-issue dust jacket of Faulkner's first great work, one of the most original and influential novels in American literature. In scarce state of preservation with no color restoration and without any of the usual fading to the spine of the dust jacket.

New York: Jonathan Cape & Harrison Smith, 1929. Octavo, original black and white paper-covered boards, white cloth spine, original dust jacket. Book very good with some soiling to spine, first-issue dust jacket (with Humanity Uprooted priced at $3.00) with a little edgewear and a few creases and rubbing; nearly invisible archival tape repair of tear to verso. Scarce in this condition, particularly with unfaded dust jacket spine. $23,000.
