The Most Famous of the Sherlock Holmes Adventures:
The Hound of the Baskervilles, First Edition

“Mr. Sherlock Holmes, who was usually very late in the mornings, save upon those not infrequent occasions when he stayed up all night, was seated at the breakfast table…”

Doyle, A. Conan. The Hound of the Baskervilles, Another Adventure of Sherlock Holmes. London: George Newnes, Limited, 1902. Octavo, original gilt-decorated cloth.  $4000.

First edition of the most celebrated of all the Sherlock Holmes adventures, the only full-length Sherlock Holmes novel. With illustrations by Sidney Paget. Text clean with intermittent light foxing, cloth clean with occasional bubbling to spine and covers, as is often seen with this title.  A bright, un-restored copy in the original cloth.   Imperfect but quite handsome overall.
